CANINE MASSAGE
My mission is to enhance your dog’s wellbeing through the therapeutic elements of massage, starting with the superficial
layers and working deep into the muscle tissue. I believe that a dog's quality of life is a reflection of energy flow, which can be blocked in tight muscles. Massage can help restore the flow of energy needed for a dog to live life to it's fullest! I know that life can get pretty stressful for you.
That's why I perform the massage in the comfort of your own home, where your dog feels most secure!
Hello, my name is Halley Smith, CMP (certified massage practitioner) and I have always had a passion for the wellbeing of animals. I first began looking into alternative healing when my then, 6 year old, German Shepherd started showing signs of arthritis. She is a part of my family, and it hurt me to see her struggle with to do the things she loved so much because of the pain she was in. Even the everyday tasks seemed to be becoming difficult for her; she had a hard time pulling herself up from lying down, she even gave up on jumping onto my bed to sleep! The vet wanted to put her on heavy pain meds, which I did not agree with at all, as I knew the side effects and didn't want to swap one lessening quality of life for another. I reflected on my own philosophy of life, which is to have faith in one's own body and to eliminate any unnatural toxins by means of a healthy diet, exercise, and body work (ie. massage, chiropractic, and acupressure). Therefore, in following my own standards, massage seemed to be the perfect alternative. So much can be gained from holistic practices, which are non-evasive and typically have tremendous outcomes! Today, my now 9 year old Shepherd fetches balls with the best of them, and is happy to be able to jump up on my bed to sleep again!
I graduated from the Lang Institute for Canine Massage in 2007. I have had a great deal of experience in working with many different breeds and temperaments of dogs, as I have worked for a doggie daycare and volunteered for a wolf sanctuary.
